See Saw See Saw (Part 2)

Saw II came out on DVD today. I kind of want to see it just to see how bad it is... the first one was bloody terrible, so I expect more of the same predicatable gory and dry horror.

If anyone does want to watch it, let me know. Might be cool to set up an evening for it when more people are back down!

The Pink Panther

I never write anything interesting here anymore... I'm not sure if it's because I have nothing to write, or if it's because I'm not interesting - either way I'm screwed...
Anywho, we went to see The Pink Panther yesterday. We were debating between that or "Inside Man" which looks really good too. The Pink Panther was funny, typical Steve Martin though, pretty predictable slapstick, but still good stuff. I don't think I'd recommend a cinema view, but definately a rent when the time comes.
On another note, I'm super happy that HUSTLE is now back on TV! TV has been so drab recently, it's great to see another intelligent program back on!

Plymouth, Pictures of Foam and a Heater

It's warm in the office with a heater on. I'm not too sure how I made it in for 8:30 this morning but I did it. I'm not that tired either, if I'd had stayed in bed I'd be completely shattered right now. Riding that early is scary too, there's actually more cars on the road at that time, which is odd.

Off to Plymouth again tonight, should be a laugh. Not sure what we're doing yet but it'll be fun anyway; except the boring 1 and a half hour journey up there, but meh, what can you do eh? Pictures from Sams foam party and my new Electric Blue hair are now up in the gallery, check 'em out!

P.S. The comments form is now up and working so leave me some comments! I do enjoy reading them. Really. No really, I actually do! :o)

Three Word Story

http://mb.crewdy.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2
Once upon atime a small goat walked along a very thin white slice of cheese playing a trombone with his feet while contemplating his overtly elongated leg, then suddenly, God fired a bolt of cheese flavoured wood chippings at a small, blue salad cream bottle made of battered poptarts and cream cheese sauce. It evolved into a egocentric juggling minstral with no left eyebrow, and three rather oddly shaped chedder cheese sandwiches.
Once, when the goat was pimping he caught a green spotted girraffe between his jaws. He then went horse riding through some green jelly which evolved into a catastrophic jumble made worse by the hoards of roaming mutant wildebeest that smelt of incubated pigeon feathers dipped in batter.
Suddenly a small overtly large caterpillar parachuted in vertically, bringing cheesy nibbles and gigantic smoothies in shoe shaped glasses which smelt of shephards pie wrapped in garlic and peppermint batter.
Once he landed on the wallaby he began to prepare cheese sandwiches to feed to highly educated llamas who then attacked the cockroach farm with giant magnetic strips of bubblegum cunningly disguised as furry blue chipmunks, a rock band and a dozen very excitable elves with pink shoes started a fight with spotted lemurs using flamingo grenades and over enthusiastic possessed tennis balls.
Some elephants precariously tied a parrot to a gorilla to retrieve its cheese and ham lost wooden leg; a small catfish entered a parallel parking spot with the intent to pillage and plunder the peanut population for the fifth time that year. George the turtle fired a rocket at a farmyard intentionally slaughtering 600 small pigmy goats in revenge for the marmite cheeseburger insulting his mothers extravegant chicken farm.
Suddenly an explosion rocketed a turtle into the orbit of haberdaberashari, a small marshmallow moon spraypainted bright pink to confuse the shaven green kittens who were plotting to kill eskimos, preventing them from entering the time machine and altering everything from catnip to confuse tiny elongated cheese farmers bent on world wide fishcake domination.
Aware of this, George the penguin set in motion to find shoes that fit his little pointy ears so that he could jump higher with his head, enabling him to enjoy frequent concussion and light headedness due to balloons and chocolate cake.

So much for a 'week off'!

Although last week was my week off, it's actually been one fo the busiest weeks I've ever had... which is actually as boring as it sounds. Well, ok not completely. A quick rundown:
Saturday: In Exeter (Animated Exeter Coverage)
Sunday: In Exeter (Animated Exeter Coverage)
Monday: In Exeter (Animated Exeter Coverage)
Seeing a pattern here?
Tuesday: At Crealy in the morning/afternoon, and in Plymouth for the evening.
- Very knackering journeys they are, all the way to Exeter, then to Clyst St Mary, then back to Exeter and up to Plymouth (that's about 2 and a half hours of buses).
Wednesday: In Plymouth most of the day. Another 2 and a half hours travelling back to Exmouth, then in to town in the evening to get drunk! (and yes, I actually drank quite a bit!). Shame it wasn't a special occasion to break my 6-month abstenence, but oh well, I'm not gonna go out drinking all the time now anyway, just occassionally.
Thursday: One of the most knackering days of the lot. Me and Brian went to Torquay (to go shopping), but when we got to the main road that leads there, it had been closed because of an accident. If we had been 1 minute quicker we would have got through, but instead we had to take a detour, and we had no idea where we were going! We ended up driving around for 20 minutes, then ending up back at the road again, so we followed a Tawny van, which was also going down the road. We figured if they were gonna go down there they were going to Torquay, so we followed it to Torquay, and got there eventually. Sitting on a bike in the freezing cold for over an hour and a half is not fun. At all.
We got loads of clothes though from Primark, which is dirt cheap, and all the stuff is good quility. The way back was fun I have to say, there was about 2 mile tailbacks on the road that was closed, and being on the bike, we were able to weave our way around all of the cars. I wouldn't be surprised if the amount we took over went in to 4 figures, it was really that busy!
Friday: REEL BIG FISH! I've been waiting for this gig for almost a month and it was absolutely fantastic. I'm not gonna go on about it, because I could forever, but you can read my full gig review at Eyes on Exeter: Reel Big Fish, Zebrahead, Fandangle Ska Exeter.
Saturday: In Exeter (Last day of Animated Exeter. Was terrible, didn't manage to get anything!)
Sunday: Went to see "Lucky Number Slevin" at the cinema, and I have to say it was one of the most fantastic films I've ever seen. It's very intelligent and very well scripted. The directing is great, with lots of cut shots etc. My full review can be seen on the Eyes on Exeter website: Lucky Number Slevin: A Must See Movie
Monday: Back to work :o(

Final Destination 3

If you get the chance I suggest watching Final Destination 3... It's, in a way, much in the same as the original 2, in terms of the overall story anyway, except it's set 5 years after the other 2. The deaths are very inventive in this one. It's actually quite worrying in a way. This one is also a bit more gory than the the others, it made me jump a few times, and cringe a lot. Very disgusting in places. Still a good, fun watch though!

The Blade Trilogy

Over the last week I have managed to watch the whole of the Blade trilogy... I enjoyed watching the first 2 film's. They were raw, and inexpensive. They looked like they were made on a low budget, and that's what was great about them.
Blade Trinity however, was a mockery... An overly high-budget film, in which Marvel had way too much say. Trinity seemed too polished, and made it look like they were trying much too hard to make a sequel, when they shouldn't have needed to. The idea of bringing "Dracula" in to the film, was, well...tacky, and the unneeded use of course language didn't fit with the film or the characters in it. Ryan Reynolds put in a good performance as "Hannibal King", with clever wit which managed to make me chuckle a lot. Having a wrestler in the movie, and continuing to make some fight scenes a wrestling match was cheesy at best however, and mostly painful to watch.
From what I've read, Snipes was against Trinity, and it's understadable why. Cheap humour is ok in pieces, but when trying to intersperce it too much in to what should be a serious sequal to two serious films, it just doesn't work. The jokes are rigid, and most of the acting is also, the plotline was wishy-washy and scarse. After watching Trinity, I really wished I had left it to the two parts previous to satisfy.

Fun Trip From Plymouth

It's now 10:30... and I just had a really fun trip back from Plymouth to get to work on the dot (not a minute late I might add). I was up at 7:30 this morning thinking the bus left Plymouth at 8:10 and I'd have plenty of time to get in... turns out it leaves at 8:50 and I made it by the skin of my teeth. Oh well, it's all good.

I've hardly been at home at all for nearly a week now. Left Saturday lunch for Bristol and got back Monday evening, spent the evening in, then left for work Tuesday morning and I'll be getting back from that trip tonight...

Who's up for a holiday?

Rain, Drivers, Foam, New Hair and Getting Healthier

It's raining again. I don't like rain whilst riding a bike, it gets in my eyes and stings. I still managed to ride down ok though which isn't too bad. I've been riding to work every day at the moment (and going home for lunch), and it's really paying off, I'm managing to get further quicker and it's definately making me a bit healthier.

I've worked out that if I keep doing what I'm doing I'll be riding about 10 miles a day, except on Tuesdays when I'll be going 5 and none on Wednesday 'cos I'm in Plymouth. Well I thought it was good. Drivers who don't indicate piss me off. They don't indicate to show they're turning in to a street then when I ride across thinking they're going straight on they beep at me and act like I'm the one in the wrong. Tossers. Learn to indicate you fools.

The foam party at Sams was awesome. We were expecting it to be naff but it was actually done really well. Big jets of foam blasting out over the dance floor all night. Tasted horrible though, and it made your eyes and lungs burn if you got too much, but besides that it's all good. I've got new BLUE HAIR! It's electric blue now, though it's only semi-permanent. I'll put some pictures up in the gallery soon.

All Clear on the Western Front

Nothing much to report on at the moment. I've been working smoothly on everything this past week, the Eyes on Exeter website is doing nicely - It's amazing how much there actually is to write about in Exeter! I just changed my hosting provider, so if the site goes down briefly do not hesitate, as it will just be me moving to a more stable, reliable, and generally much better provider. Goodbye and Good Riddance to DataPacket!!!

Tom Holt: Only Human

A month or so back I wrote a post about buying the book 'Only Human' by Tom Holt. I've now all but finished the book, and I have to say it's a fantastic read. Tom Holt has the most wonderfully sarcastic and sometimes morbid way or writing, and the whole book is just wit after wit, constantly punching out lines that make you laugh every time.
The story is essentially about a cock-up by the son of God (who has, incidentally, gone fishing). The whole story revolves around what has happened on Earth because of the mess-up in heaven. Bodies get swapped, company's disolve and the world is plunged in to an eternal Eclipse.
If you ever get the chance to read it, then go for it. It's most defintely worth it.
