Today has been such an increadibly slow day. Time just doesn't seem to be going anywhere at all, it's weird. I've been working solidly all day and the time just doesn't change. Guess that's a good thing though; means I'm getting things done quicker than I imagined, but yeah.
Think I might go out and get drunk tonight, that's about what I need at the moment to be honest...
I'm not really a big fan of the Shrek franchise, I've never found it that funny to be honest, but Shrek the Third was actually alright. Most are saying that it's not nearly as good as the other 2 but to be honest I thought it was much better, and I laughed far more this time around than I did at the other 2 (and I've only seen each one once).
The idea of pretty much every major fairytale around (even The Juniper Tree) taking part as a good/evil story is fantastic and I think they pulled it off, just about. Eric Idol stole the whole film though in his one major scene as the decrepid, off-his-rocker wizard Merlin. Go see it; not in the cinema though, it's not worth it that much.
Aside from a bit of yawning, I'm a bit worried as to the fact that I'm not actually that tired from being up at 6:45. I should get up this early every day. At least I'd get some breakfast and get to do some work before I head in to work everyday, which would be good as I work better in the mornings generally than in the evening.
I was doing alright at darts earlier on, before I left for work, I've found an odd style of throwing that seems to work really well, just gotta perfect ti a bit as 1/10 seem to be falling or hitting the board slightly wrong, nothing major that I can't work on though. I do love playing darts, always have done. One of those wierd hobbies I guess.
Work has been good today, lots of working with PHP, espeically bits that I didn't make which is more fun as I get to go through and learn as I'm going which is always fun.
It's just gone 7am and I'm up already. For no real reason either, I just had to get money off Tash and she started work at 7. Can't be bothered to go back to sleep now either, might as well make use of the situation I guess and get some work done/ play some darts in the hall.
We spent a lot of yesterday handing out posters in town; about 30 of them, and we ran out so I had to print more off which we're giving out today. Quite a few of them put them up straight away and at least 3 people said they'd probably do it with us, which is great.
Besides that I just worked on the new user content side of FTG, which is looking so good now, easily my best design I've ever done, it just looks so much more visually appealing this time, which it's never particularly done that well. I'm working on a system where people can sign up and get a blog, add a CD collection, add polls, quizzes and test as well as images, add friends and comment on basicaly everything, it's really fun to do and I'm learning an absolute ton.
Well I don't feel increadibly tired so I'm going to get a nice cold drink and some breakfast to tide me over until I have to leave for work.
We watched Enemy of the State last night. I forgot just how much I love that movie, definately one of my all-time favourites. Work is coming along ok, though I spend most of my time working on this website instead of FTG, but of well, I'm making sure I don't rush the new website as I want it to be perfect for the launch, even if that was originally going to be May.
Not much else happened yesterday; I came back home early as I'd done the extra hour and a half on Monday and uploaded therest of the gallery and put this website live, which was fun, it was great to find a style that really works for the site, especially the look of things like the comments and the gallery pages.
Bit of a revamp, Deja-Vu and the Circus
Bit of a recap from the weekend, I've revamped the backend of the website again. You can now comment on any photo, page or blog post you like just by filling in the form at the bottom. I'll probably integrate user accounts soon too to make it even easier again. I'll be re-adding the gallery soon once I get a minute with even more pics than before. I've found some absolute gems on my computer, and a bunch that need scanning as well.
We went to the circus at the weekend - trawling through about 100 metres of sludge and mud was just lovely, but we didn't have to pay anything so it's forgiven. Tash had free tickets so we just had to pay for the train to Topsham in the end. It was an alright show, not really my sort of thing but I enjoyed bits of it (mainly the athletic parts), and it was a good show in the end. Went on for an hour and a half which was a bit of a trek, but I was happy to see the second part even if the first was a bit naff. They had trapese artists as well as doing springboards and trampoline tricks (Matrix style, apparently), can't realy remember what else as they're the only bits that really caught my attention.
We watched Deja-Vu on Sunday evening; great film, though it's a bit of a tricky one because it deals with a lot of time travel and the theory of being able to look in to the past. Lots of paradoxes and a few loose ends but still a great film (well, with Tony Scott and Jerry Bruckenheimer it was always going to be). The theories were handled well but possibly not explained quite enough; anyone without any ideas of time-travel or the effects it can cause would be a little bit lost in some parts, I'd most definately recommend it though.
We also watched Charlotte's Web which isn't really my sort of film (well, I'll say that anyway, I have a spot for films like this), it's quite fun and the animals are just fantasic, the actors voices and the way they are directed could not be better. Lots of visually funny moments as well as vocally, especially from the likes of John Cleese and Steve Buscemi. I won't go too far in to what it's about but it's a well made film if you like that sort of thing... Well, that thing being Babe anyway.
Worked an absolute ton of overtime recently, and I haven't really been noticing it all that much. I did 9 hours last week and didn't really feel bored or annoyed at all, I think the week off has done me a world of good. I did an extra hour and a half last night as well which means I get to leave really early today. Wehey.
Only thing left to say is... How fantastic was Doctor Who this week!? Holy hell next week is going to be fantastic. I can't believe ive managed to stay away from spoilers for so long, but it's helped, last week was very well paced, though the trailer for next week looks like it could eb a bit extreme (and maybe even over-the-top, dare I say it?) but it still looks like it's going to blow the whole season out of the water. Aside froma few dud episodes (mainly 42 and Shakespere Code) the season has just got better and better, especially after season 2 which by whole was a bit of an iffy season.
Anywho, I've written far too much so I'm going to stop. I'm going to try and keep this thing updated as much as I can now (I know I've said that before), whether it be daily or weekly, I need to start actually using the website for something now.
The All New Crewdy dot Co dot Uk is Here
Yahey! I'm using my all new content management system that i've built for forfeitthegame.com and it woks awesomly. I've uploaded the old gallery and a bunch of reviews, as well as a snippet from the new story I'm writing, and Chapter one of my old story that I posted a while back.
I'll get the comments and everything up and running soon, and I'll get the forums going properly, as I haven't transferred those over from the Linkin Park version, but that'll be going soon. It's all good!
I'll get some new pictures up really soon as I still have a bunch of different galleries that I haven't uploaded, and now that it's twice as simple I can get them up and running quicker.
It's been a generally good week off for my birthday. Friday was awesome, I made all 21 of the alotted pubs along with Tash, and I wasn't even overly that drunk. Saturday I almost fell asleep in the pub which was quite amusing, haha. Tuesday we went to Crealy which was great fun, I do love a bit of Crealy.
Still have to go see Pirates 3 at some point this week though, and we have free tickets to the circus which'll be a laugh as well. I've got a gig tonight to go on top of that, so it's all going on this week. A little bit hectic but I don't really mind to be honest, hectic is what I seem to do best!
Getting a bit obsessed with Doctor Who; but how fantaastic was Utopia. I knew that character was coming back but what a build-up. It's a three-parter as well, which they managed to keep under wraps pretty damn well. It's going to be a fantastic finale over the next two weeks. Woohoo! Now all i've got to do is keep myself occupied until Saturday, hmm...
The Gig Went Well, but I'm Shattered
The latter part is probably from being out drinking last night. Was fun though, and a bit strange being out in the Q Club again, it's been a while! And half sober dancing is still weird.
I made some money on the gig as well which was good, and it was a great night. Really good crowd and 6 fantastic bands, including Numb, who stole the show; DeadAndriod (it was their first gig), Pull Up! Terrain who are a great laugh; Flying Peacocks who I didn't end up seeing all that much of, ATRIO who are always awesome and the Toxic Waste Monkeys who I was looking forward to the entire night.
Got another gig on Monday, should be a good one, a few younger bands and a fantastic headlining band in the Toxic Waste Monkeys. Should help me get a little bit of cash for HYSTERIA. I've got to do the tax return for the company soon which isn't going to be the most interesting thing ever. Shall be an enlightening experience though I would guess.
Got the beginning of next week off as well which'll be fun. Golf on Sunday, the gig on Monday Crealy on Tuesday and up in Plymouth on Wednesday. Nice and eventful, just the way I like it! Might even go bowling or something in Plymouth; that'd be a larf!
For the last few weeks I've not really felt like doing anything. At all. I've been sitting around reading messageboards for nearly two weeks now and it's been really getting to me, because no matter how much I know I need to work, and want to get work done, I just haven't felt like it at all.
I think after a bit of a lie in over the weekend though that I'm feeling a bit better. Moods like that are very weird, and kind of confusing. There's no real reason for it, and all I needed was 2 hours extra sleep to make me feel better. What's the deal with that?
Yeah, so I don't really know what to say, but I'm bored so I thought I'd make a new blog post. My new version of forfeitthegame.com is coming along awesomely, it looks good and it works fantastically, it's all done in PHP and I can add new pages in about 20 seconds (as opposed to 20 minutes like before) - it's all got mod_rewrite and looks pretty and organised. Yay!
The new HYSTERIA Magazine should be out on Saturday with an exclusive track from Lacerta. It's gonna be awesome, the track is really good and I'm happy to finally get this one out; only about 4 days late instead of the usual 2 weeks!! Haha.
And finally... The comments are actually fixed this time, I've put a spam thing on it and it's working great so far. I had 3000 spammy comments on Wednesday night so they've all gone and it's back to normal - I haven't had one since. Show me some comment love :o)
