As Exciting as a Broken Doorknob
That about sums up today I think. I really have done near to nothing all day (minus work of course) - although work is going well at the moment. I'm feeling alright after my week off and I don't have horrendous amounts of work to catch up which is good. Things are flying through too, by the end of play I was way ahead of schedule, so yay.
Besides that I've not had the Internet all evening, so I've been creating. I made a new front page for forfeitthegame.com to coincide with the release for the LP Funbox Facebook application (which is all but done - woohoo!), and I started re-re-re-revamping my content management system, which I still desperately need to get finished, but it can at least wait for a while. I also watched Heroes, because I'm a bit obsessed. What can you do eh?
I've set myself a reminder to check 4 or 5 things every night before I go bed (check for Linkin Park news, go on sites I should be checking etc) and updating this is one of the things I have put down. Because I do love to update the website. Really. I think I'm gonna revamp it again soon, it's a bit too dark. That'll be fun, I like redesigning stuff.
So what have I been up to... Not alot, as usual. I've become rather obsessed with Heroes in the absence of Doctor Who and am fully up-to-date with Season 2 (which is coming to an untimely close in 2 weeks time!). I've been working... alot. Drinking... alot. Procrasting... far too much, and well, being lazy.
As of December I'll also be moving to Plymouth to live with Tash in her student house, because, quite frankly, it's cheaper for me and I'll enjoy it more. The thought of house hunting over Christmas and New Years isn't al that enticing for some strange reason (!). So that'll be fun, a bit of a commute back to Exmouth every day, but if it becomes too much then, well I'll find somewhere in Exmouth I guess; which'll be a shame 'cos I'm growing rather fond of Plymouth.
So hopefully my reminder will remind me to update more, and get news and stuff updated on my website. Although I do seem to spend far more time on Facebook right now (and upload all my new photos there!), but oh well, I'll get back in the swing of things in the new year I hope, once all my heavy work is out the way. Hooray for then!
Is a pain in the bloody arse. But I did it, and it works, which is good. We now have the laptop at home connected via wireless to the router in my room, and my internet is a lot more sturdy (and slightly faster) now. Yay!
I don't know what else to write about, not much has happened in the last few weeks (aside from getting a bit too drunk a few too many times). I've finished a bit project off, which is all custom built in PHP, and actually rocks really hard. It's the best thing I've ever built by a long shot. I'll be releasing that on Saturday morning though...
I've Been Really Accident Prone Recently
It's really bad. I'm already having a really bad day and I'm only a few hours in... I spend £30 last night and spent the night completely sober, which was really, really annoying 'cos that's £30 down the drain. I think I'm just gonna stop drinking for a while, and go on another abstinence like I did a while back, 'cos everytime I go out recently I'm not getting drunk at all and I'm just wasting money. I don't mind going to a club sober nowadays so that seems like the best option.
This morning I managed to drop my breakfast, then after finally having something to eat, I was late in to work, despite leaving on time and now I'm more hungry than I am when I don't have any food in the mornings. I really don't get it, but it's getting quite annoying. I hate being accident prone, I'm just gonna sit in my room and not touch anything for a while.
Looking for a house is still getting nowhere pretty much and I've still got to fill in my tax return for HYSTERIA soon, despite not having the slightest clue what I've gotta do for it. Oh the joys.
I knew this updating everyday thing would go out of the window, but oh well, I'm still updating whenever I get a chance. I haven't been up to a whole lot in the last week and a half; drinking, sleeping, playing Monopoly and watching obscene amounts of films just about sums it up really. We watched Mighty Ducks, D2 and D3 (even though the third is a bit shit); Barnyard; Dumbo and a few other things I can't remember.
We also went to see The Simpsons the other day, which is actually really great! It's the kind of stuff you'd expect from the first few series of the show; really stupidly visual humour and bits of really great dialogue. It's not consistently funny but it's definately worth watching. I have to be off but I may update again later today. Adios.
Wednesday Was Fun; Thursday Wasn't
The last time I will be going out drinking properly for a long time I would imagine, but you never know. It was fun though and we ended up in the Q Club which was packed, it's great, 'cos last Wednesday was dead all night for some reason. Thursday didn't feel so good though, surviving with a hangover and 5 hours sleep.
I've been going home for lunch at the moment which is quite cool, it means I don't have to spend anything, ride an extra 4 or so miles and get to make something really decent for lunch instead of sandwitches and KFC all the time. Which is good because I have about £20 to last me the month after going out so bloddy much this month. It's my own fault though.
ExeFest 2007 this Sunday, should be quite big; at least I really hope it will be. I did really bad at getting it organised and bits and pieces seem to be going really wrong as always, but it's ok, I got tickets out to all the bands so they should eb able to sel some, and I've been promoting the hell out of it for the last week or so, just gotta get it out on everyones MySpace profiles etc. I'll give you £2 entry if you come up. lol. It's gonna be Tom Conibear, Everything you Lost, The 9ts, The Supreme Beings, Virtual Takeover, Incommunicado, DeadAndroid, ScissorBeatsPaper and Lacerta.
A whole week in fact. So what have I been up to... Tuesday I procrastinated all evening and watched some TV, Wednesday we went to the beach and got sunburnt, and found some really cool oversized games in Manor Gardens, which will be there again next Wednesday (not the one coming up) and the next two other Wednesdays after. If that makes sense. Which I know it doesn't.
We went out in the evening which was fun. We'll be going out again this Wednesday which will also be fun hopefully, though I am seriously lacking in the money department already this month. All part of the fun though. I think. Hopefully I'll be receiveing a cheque from Google this month, so that'll help things along. I don't have to pay as much rent next month either which will be good. Not having a great deal fo luck finding a place though so I may be moving up to Plymouth temporarily and making the commute back to Exmouth for work, which shouldn't be too bad. I'll think about that when I get to that stage though...
Thursday and Friday I procrastinated again, as it's what I ultimately do best. Saturday and Sunday, here's a surprise, I actually got some work done! I finshed the new search facility for FTG and started revamping the code a bit. It's amazing how much more simple you can make things just by learning a bit more about the code. It's looking ultimately awesome so far, though I won't get to work on it for long tonight.
ExeFest on Sunday. 9 bands in 7 hours. £3 all day, or get a ticket from me for £2.50. The HUB, Exeter. Gonna be my last major gig before I put HYSTERIA on hiatus for 6 months. I really need to get my head around everything and get it all sorted so I'm putting that on the backburner for a while and hopefully good will come from that. I've still got to do my tax return which will take me a week to go through, unless somebody knows someone who can do it cheap (read: very cheap/ free!). Ah well, it'll all get done, just a pain in the arse that I've gotta get to moving and everything soon. Oh the joy of it all.
I haven't updated for a few days. My bad. Been watching a bunch of films over the weekend, not really been doing much else though. Friday evening I went out for a bit which was alright, Exmouth is dead on a Friday night now though which is really wierd, used to be packed. I'm working on getting some blooming bands for the 22nd. I seem to have messaged endless amounts of bands and still only filled 6 of the 9 slots, it's crazy. Hopefully it'll all be alright, I'm really worried that this one might bomb a bit due to me not being able to sort it out quick enough; venue/sound won't be that cheap either.
Anyway, to the films. We watched the first two Lord of the Rings, which I haven't seen in ages. Still amazing films, with amazing direction from Peter Jackson. Reading the trivia pages on IMdB is actually really fun as well, some of the stuff is quite amazing really. We also watched Failure to Launch, which was alright. Funny moments and some boring bits but I wasn't paying all that much attention anyway.
Lastly we watched What's Eating Gilbert Grape, with Johnny Depp, who is always fantastic, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who completely outshines him throughout the whole film. Without knowing that DiCaprio wasn't mentally handicapped you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. His performance is flawless all the way through and goes to prove just how fine an actor he is even at 19, despite the criticism he gets.
Anyway, I've got a headache so I'm going to stop writing and er... enjoy the sun. That I can't see. Yeah...
It's actually pretty cool, I like it. I was planning on bleaching it another colour but I think I might just leave it as it is for a while. It's bleached blonder underneath and ginger on the top, whih looks cool. What colour should I do it next? I don't know, I've done most colours already.
I feel ashamed. lol. Doctor Who on Saturday was pretty amazing, with a fantastic last 10 minutes. The twist at the end of the episode was great, and I'm glad I refrained from looking at the spoilers for the last 3 episodes, would have ruined it all. Of course I knew the Master was coming back, and I'm a bit sad they killed him off, but what was with Lucy and the ring on Malcasseiro at the end. Ooh, mystery.
Bit sad that Kylie is going to be in the Christmas special; she's never been that god an actress but ah well, could be alright I guess. Lets just hope she isn't the new companion.
What else is there to say? It's a Tuesday morning and not much is going on really.
Another week, another Monday. I've never really had anything against Monday's, except having to get up at 8 again after 2 days of getting up later, but oh well. We watched Bobby last night, it was very good. Not in a great plot twists and memorable quotes sort of way but in a theatrical and cinematic sort of way. Quite frankly Emilio Estevez is amazing both as an actor, writer and director.
Team Meetings aren't too bad either, they go on for a while and I occasionally feel like I'm gonna collapse but it's all good in the end. Haha. I'm gonna make sure I get some work done tonight, I've been slacking so much recently it's just silly. Must. Do. Work. ._.
Haha. My own fault though, it was a good night out. Bit too much alcohol methinks but ah well, it's always a laugh. Gonna spend today working through FTG and getting stuff done, hopefully I can get some decent stuff done with the site if I work properly. Got the Bike Ride tomorrow, with the mayor of Exmouth coming down to open it up for us. How cool is that?
I'm on a Doctor Who marathon today; watching Gridlock, Lazarus Experiment, Human Nature, Family of Blood, Utopia and The Sound of Drums. Awsomeness in a little 24 inch TV box. That'll take me right through until 7:10 when Last of the Time Lords starts. Yehey. See you on the other side.
