Whoa, Lack of Updatingness!

So it's been a while since I updated. I haven't really had much to write about this week. I had thursday and friday off of work to go do something fun with Tash, and to get away from work for a few days in general. So, thursday we took a trip to Living Coasts, which was very fun. I wasn't expecting to have as much fun there as I did, as there wasn't much to see, but it was definately better than the Paignton trip a few months back. That may be because I'm obsessed with Penguins though.
The first thing you see when getting there is the free roaming penguins, which are so cool. They have their own little beach and water area, and they can come out of it onto the boardwalk where people stand - although you're not allowed to touch them (though they are allowed to attack you!). You also get to see the penguins swimming underwater in a few places, which is very cool. After that you move onto the Auk Cliff, with some puffins and other birds. They weren't very exiting, but is was funny watching them ride the fake waves they had!
Next was the Waders' Estuary area with some cool Avocat birds and a few other random birds I don't remember the names of. After that you see the Duck Pond area, with some really scary Goldeneye's. Next we wen't down a long hill to find 3 lazy seals lying on a rock - they were like that both times we went past, nothing too exiting! After that we went over to the Macaroni Penguin Pool, with a birdy sitting on top. These penguins are so lazy compared to the others, which was kinda disappointing... We also got to see more random birdies too, then we ended up walking around more times to view everything again until the penguin feeding session, which was cool to watch. I also got some really nice pictures of Torquay Harbour.
On Friday, we also went to Crealy, which was great fun, they have a fantastic new waterslide which we stayed on for ages. We also got some pumpkins, which we carved out on Saturday evening. I then decorated mine, which was quite funny. A very nice, enjoyable weekend, shame I have to go back to work tomorrow :o(

Tired, tired... So tired...

I got about eight and a half hours sleep last night and I feel twice as tired as I do on a regular day. I don't understand it. I really can't concentrate today because of it, and time is going exceedingly slow as well, which doesn't help. It's rainy outside, my nose is a bit bunged up and keeps running, and my foot has gone tingly for no apparent reason. Ugh. Today is a bad day...

My Modern Apprenticeship Is Almost Done!

So in December last year I started my 2-year Modern Apprenticeship in IT, at level 2. By the end of today, I should have completely finished it! Yay! It will only count for 5 GCSE level grades unfortunately, but if I continue to level 3 it will count for 2 A-Levels. The only problem with that is that I may have to go to college one day a week. Eww. Oh well, we'll see on the 24th when i have my next meeting :o)

The People of Exmouth

What is it with the people of Exmouth? I really don't understand them. Somebody just got knocked off a motorbike at the bottom of rolle street (by the old sports shop), and for about 100 metres each way all people could seem to function their brains to do was stand and stare, and gossip amongst themselves. As I walked up the road it appeared to me how moronic these people are, in that only 3 people bothered to go and help him. He just got knocked off a motorbike and only 3 people had the common sense to use a brain cell. When something good happens in this town people say wow and move along, but when something bad happens they're all over it like flies on cow shit.
Fuckwits.
The guy was fine by the way, luckily.
That is all.

Where To Start With...

I have just started a new... 'series', if you will, of articles, which I am publishing on the FTG Online Magazine. The first of my series is Muse. The articles are something that I think will be very useful to those who are looking to get in to new bands, but dont't particularly know where to start. I will be picking the 5 songs that I feel best define the band as a whole, yet give a broad perspective of what the band can do as a whole. For Muse I picked 'Citizen Erased', 'Bliss', 'Hysteria', 'The Gallery' and 'Muscle Museum'.

Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

...Is fantastic! Going to see this on Sunday fully made up for the disaster of a movie that was "A History of Violence" which we went to see Saturday evening. Wallace and Gromit comes out properly on Friday (We were at one of the advanced showings). The humour of the movie is typically British, and is very naive and cheesy the whole way through - but as usual, that is what makes the movie so funny in the first place. Definately recommend this film to anybody who likes a funny movie - or anybody who likes 20-foot tall fluffy bunnies/bunnies wearing jumpers and proclaiming their love for cheese!

Crewdy Merchandise, Officially Endorsed by Crewdy!

So my new Cafe Press t-shirt came through today, and it rocks. For those who haven't taken focus to the navigation in a while, you can buy some groovy Crewdy.co.uk merchandise, which is both stylish and completely and utterly random at the same time, by clicking on the 'shop' link in the top right. I decided on buying one myself, and it is a very nice t-shirt. The design is heat printed (meaning ironed into the fabric itself) and the t-shirt itself is nice and thick. So you can see me wearing it here. I really need a haircut don't I?

A History Of Violence...

...Is a terrible movie. Period. If the lack of competent actors wasn't enough to spoil it, the non-existent plotline was. Vigo Mortensen plays his role well - what roll he has anyway. If you want a good idea of what this whole movie is about - take a look at the trailers online - and avoid going to see this at all costs.
Tash also said it smells like poo. :@)

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton

I don't know what it is with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, but everything they make is fantastic. 'Edward Scissorhands', 'Ed Wood', 'Sleepy Hollow', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and mosts recently, 'The Corpse Bride', which is released very soon. 'Sleepy Hollow' is one of my favourite movies of all time, and I have very high expectations for 'The Corpse Bride'. I may go and see that when it comes out.
'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' is out on DVD on November 21st, and I will definately be grabbing a copy. As well as that (and on a completely different note) I plan to get Madagascar as well. Yay.

My Favourite Track Ever

For a while now I've been trying to come up with a list of my 5 favourite songs of all time. It's damn hard. At least the last 4 are. One track stands out as my top track of all time, it always has, and probably will do for many years to come. Despite having one of the nasal and raspy voices in the music business, Billy Corgan does this song the justice it needs. The song, of course is "Tonight, Tonight" by the fabulous Smashing Pumpkins.
It's very rare that you find a song that you can listen to over and over again without getting tired of it, a song that you can listen to at any time and still be able to smile to it and relate to it. The lyrics have many meanings and Billy is his usual perplexing self. No wonder he released a poetry book. The video makes this song all that muc better - filmed in the style of an early 20th century 'short film', the video looks like a bunch of cardboard cutouts. It is though, a fantastic piece of artistic direction, and a fabulous video to watch.
And if you were wondering my four other tracks right now are:
Robbie Williams' "Angels"
Foo Fighters' "Breakout"
Muse's "Citizen Erased"
Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody"

Chapter One

A stark, putrid stench fills the room, as he lifts himself up he feels an ache in his shoulder, he sits up and winces in pain as the bones grind against each other, snapping sharply and seamlessly as they relocate themselves. He takes a second to focus his eyes on the sky blue door opposite him, the shallow light drifting through the crevice underneath. As he walks cautiously to the door he hears a faint echo, spinning around almost by reaction, he leaps backwards a pace, gasping for air he looks up. A mirror, hanging on the wall. He sees a reflection of himself, his black shirt torn at the waist, and a blood stain marking the spot where his knees sit on his newly brushed white jeans.
He turns back and stares at the door, hesitantly tugging on the handle. Locked. But how, there is no visible lock? He steps backwards, bedazzled, and sits on the scarlet carpet below him. He moves closer to the door, hoping for a glimpse of what lies beyond. As he moves his tired eyes towards the gap, he winces back, his face scrunching up. The light is blinding, too bright to see past.
He sits back in the middle of the room, examining his surroundings. A small blue blanket, folded 4 times equally, sits in the corner in front of him. A small wooden desk sits to his left, the small bedside lamp next to it flickers manically. A small calligraphy pen sits on top of a piece of paper, scribbling etched into it. He walks up to the desk and sits on the small stall in front of him, gliding the lamp across the desk. The flickering makes the writing harder to decipher. What language is this? Who wrote it?
He rests his weary arms on the desk, his golden Rolex glistening under the light, the glass on top cracked and the hands still. Twelve o'clock dead. He lifts his left hand to the light to inspect the damage. Two small, bloody craters, dug into the palm of his hand, and inch apart. How did they get there? He moves to the door again, he knows it's locked but he'll try anyway. As he places his sweaty hand on the handle, he hears a faint whisper from the other side. He moves his ear to the door. Too quite to make out a word...

Chicken Tika Deli Sandwich

I just had a McDonalds Chicken Tika Deli Sandwich today - It's quite nice. The sauce is a bit odd (yoghurty schtuff with a bit of mint) which makes it taste a little funny, but besides that I'd recommend it. I actually wanted a Chicken Salad but they didn't have one. Ah well, maybe next time.
