So much for a 'week off'!
Although last week was my week off, it's actually been one fo the busiest weeks I've ever had... which is actually as boring as it sounds. Well, ok not completely. A quick rundown:
Saturday: In Exeter (Animated Exeter Coverage)
Sunday: In Exeter (Animated Exeter Coverage)
Monday: In Exeter (Animated Exeter Coverage)
Seeing a pattern here?
Tuesday: At Crealy in the morning/afternoon, and in Plymouth for the evening.
- Very knackering journeys they are, all the way to Exeter, then to Clyst St Mary, then back to Exeter and up to Plymouth (that's about 2 and a half hours of buses).
Wednesday: In Plymouth most of the day. Another 2 and a half hours travelling back to Exmouth, then in to town in the evening to get drunk! (and yes, I actually drank quite a bit!). Shame it wasn't a special occasion to break my 6-month abstenence, but oh well, I'm not gonna go out drinking all the time now anyway, just occassionally.
Thursday: One of the most knackering days of the lot. Me and Brian went to Torquay (to go shopping), but when we got to the main road that leads there, it had been closed because of an accident. If we had been 1 minute quicker we would have got through, but instead we had to take a detour, and we had no idea where we were going! We ended up driving around for 20 minutes, then ending up back at the road again, so we followed a Tawny van, which was also going down the road. We figured if they were gonna go down there they were going to Torquay, so we followed it to Torquay, and got there eventually. Sitting on a bike in the freezing cold for over an hour and a half is not fun. At all.
We got loads of clothes though from Primark, which is dirt cheap, and all the stuff is good quility. The way back was fun I have to say, there was about 2 mile tailbacks on the road that was closed, and being on the bike, we were able to weave our way around all of the cars. I wouldn't be surprised if the amount we took over went in to 4 figures, it was really that busy!
Friday: REEL BIG FISH! I've been waiting for this gig for almost a month and it was absolutely fantastic. I'm not gonna go on about it, because I could forever, but you can read my full gig review at Eyes on Exeter: Reel Big Fish, Zebrahead, Fandangle Ska Exeter.
Saturday: In Exeter (Last day of Animated Exeter. Was terrible, didn't manage to get anything!)
Sunday: Went to see "Lucky Number Slevin" at the cinema, and I have to say it was one of the most fantastic films I've ever seen. It's very intelligent and very well scripted. The directing is great, with lots of cut shots etc. My full review can be seen on the Eyes on Exeter website: Lucky Number Slevin: A Must See Movie
Monday: Back to work :o(
